Honorable Mentions
Title:
"Worlds in Collision"
This is the convergence of two vitamin C crystals
which are disrupting each other's growth.

Title: "Consonance"
This is a
single vitamin C crystal growing in a non-homogeneous environment.
Title: "Crystal Fronds"
This is the convergence of two Epsom salt crystals.
All three are photomicrographs of common crystals.
All photographs were made on a Zeiss Universal set up for polarization.
The camera is an out-of-the-box Nikon Coolpix P5000 with UR-E20 adapter
from Continental Camera. It couples to a Leitz 10X/18 Periplan ocular
which acts as a transfer lens. This assembly, which drops into the
microscope's photoport, is a simple, relatively cheap, no-fuss solution for
exhibit grade photomicrographs on 160 mm tube length instruments.

Brown Eyes
My friend Esther Pellitier, taken in my studio (bedroom) haha, using a white
comforter blanket and 2 hot lights that were very close. I slightly over
exposed the image on purpose to get a high key portrait. The subject for this
shoot was a peacock feather or plume. I shot it digitally with a Nikon
D50. The post process and creativity was done by me on Photoshop
CS2. She was a good
sport, hair and makeup design by me.

Title: Rosy Cheeks
On this one I digitally added the purple dots
next to the eye for added makeup effect.

Title:
Third Eye
This one is my favorite!! I love the bright colors.

Title: Erin Gown
It's my 3 year old dancing
in a dress that used to be mine.
You cant see her at all, only her shadow - and I really just loved
the way the backlight silhouettes her.
Taken with Canon Rebel XT this past week.

This is a
flower that grows wild on our land in the Southern Tier.
Taken with a Kodak Easy Share the summer of 2007.

Title: Sara's Tulip
An unedited photo of my
daughter when she was 3
"taking time to smell the flowers" : ).
I just loved how her blue eyes showed against the red tulip
and almost perfectly match the blue sky!
Took this with the Kodak Easy Share!
