On-line Photo Contest Rules

Spirit of the Contest: This contest is meant to be a fun way of displaying our customers' photos on the web. Content must be suitable for viewing by a general audience and all decisions by the judges are final.  If you can't regard this contest as a pleasant amusement, we invite you not to apply.

If, after you read the following, you don't understand how to send us your entries, please stop in at the store and we will be glad to show you how to do it! :-)

1. Contest is open to everyone, but prizes must be picked up at our store or you are responsible for the shipping fee.
2. Photos must be submitted by e-mail only.  Up to Three entries per person. Entries should be .gif or .jpg files, as these are the only formats suitable for e-mail and web display. For the resolution set the smaller side, whether vertical or horizontal, to 600 pixels.  We can always resize it from there.  Images dropped off at the store will not be considered. E-mail address is info@continentalcamera.com.
3. Photos submitted must be accompanied by photographer's name (not on photo itself), mailing address (make sure it's the address that will be used if you win) and phone number, as well as e-mail address and a brief description of the photograph. Please indicate whether the picture was taken with a digital camera or was scanned, and what equipment and/or techniques were used.  It will take a few days to post winners after the deadline for receiving entries. 
4. Entrants are responsible for obtaining any applicable model releases or any other permission or license necessary for the submission of their work for this contest.
5. Entries will be judged on content, creativity, composition, and appearance in the browser window. 

THE WINNER...Will be determined by the store. Identification will be required to pick up the prize.  If the prize is not claimed within 45 days of posting on our web site it will be forfeited. Continental Camera is not responsible for notifying the prize winners. Contestants are expected to check the website themselves.

THE JUDGING...will be done by members of the Continental Camera staff, and all decisions are final. (Staff members can be bribed--not really, we just wanted to see if you read this far.) Please review the beginning section of these rules regarding the spirit of the contest. Submitting an entry to this contest indicates willingness by the contestant to have his/her entries displayed on Continental Camera's web site and in-store computer. Contest void where prohibited by law. Continental Camera reserves the right to modify these rules at any time.
